Internet services provided by the StormFiber service provider are disrupted in areas of Pakistan as of March 17th. The disruptions reportedly commenced following a fire at the StormFiber office in the Lakson Square Building in Karachi. Reported affected areas include Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar. StormFiber personnel are working to restore internet services.
Commercial disruptions are possible, especially if operations rely heavily on internet access. Communication and security systems dependent on internet connectivity may also be affected. Interruptions to online services provided by private and government entities, including app-based transport booking and food delivery, are possible.
