Members of the ultra-Orthodox community have staged a protest along Route 4 near Bnei Brak on March 8th, blocking an entrance to the city. Police have deployed to the demonstration, and low-level clashes have been reported between police and protesters. The demonstration is taking place following the arrest of the son of a well-known ultra-Orthodox activist.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site over the coming hours. Further clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out, especially if demonstrators refused to disperse.
