The Coalition of Civil Society for Citizen Action (CASAC) movement plans to stage a march in N’Djamena on March 6th. The purpose of the action is to support Chad’s Transitional Military Council (CMT). Organizers have announced that the march will begin in front of the Palace on January 15th and end at the Adoum Tchere Roundabout. The demonstration’s start time was not immediately announced. The government has reportedly granted CASAC a permit for the gathering to take place.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy a heightened security presence along the march route. Localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstration. Clashes between security forces and counter-protesters cannot be ruled out.
