Travel Alert: South Africa [December 29, 2021]

Travel Alert

Water disruptions are ongoing in George Municipality, Western Cape as of December 29th, after three supply pipes burst. The infrastructure was reportedly damaged during flood events in November. Officials have asked residents to use water supply sparingly through December 30th as the municipality responds to the damage. Some water pressure decreases have been reported. Officials have warned that supply could be suspended entirely in some areas.

Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water to maintain operations.
