Travel Alert: Canada [December 13, 2021]

Travel Alert

Members of the Laval Transport Company (Societe de transport de Laval, STL) plan to strike in Laval, in the Greater Montreal area, Quebec Province, December 18-19th. Bus services in the city will be completely shut down and shuttle services will be impaired for the duration of the strike. The strike has been organized to protest the lack of agreement in related union negotiations.

Unless averted, the strike will disrupt passenger bus travel along routes in Laval. Increased demand for alternative forms of transport is likely. Associated rallies cannot be discounted. Any demonstrations that occur will almost certainly attract heightened security and could result in localized road transport disruptions.
