Protesters from Philippians human rights groups gathered to denounce an attempt from the son of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos to return the family to power by running for presidential elections in 2022. The Marcos family has repeatedly denied allegations of stealing wealth while in power. Protesters rallied ahead of the younger Marcos’ candidacy filing while burning pictures of the late ruler and vowing to block the families’ return to power.
