Travel Alert: Uzbekistan [August 19, 2021]

Travel Alert

Government officials will indefinitely close Terminal 3 of Tashkent International Airport (TAS) from August 19, 2021. Domestic flights, which normally operate from this terminal, will now operate from Terminal 2. While airport officials initially stated technical reasons had prompted the closure, transport officials have since clarified that the terminal will be used to facilitate the emergency transfer of EU and Afghan nationals from Afghanistan to Europe.

The closure of Terminal 3 may prompt disruptions to domestic and international flights. Additionally, passenger processing delays are also possible. Significant flight disruptions will likely be mitigated by lower passenger numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
