Honduras government officials have decided to lengthen the nation’s 22:00-05:00 nightly curfew and other existing COVID-19 restrictions until July 25. In addition to the curfew, health, sanitization, and other operating protocols remain in force at commercial establishments. All banks, supermarkets, shopping centers, and stores nationwide are limited to operating at a 50-percent capacity. Businesses that are allowed to operate must ensure that all patrons wear protective facemasks covering their mouths and noses, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing. Social gatherings are limited to no more than 10 people. Bars, discotheques, theaters, cinemas, gyms, sporting centers, and convention centers are closed; certain other types of establishments that host large group gatherings also remain closed. Leaving home during curfew hours is generally limited to essential workers and emergencies, among other exceptions.
International Travel Restrictions
Nonresident foreign nationals who have been in South Africa or the UK in the last 21 days are banned from entering the country. Citizens, residents, and diplomats may enter from those locations but must self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.
All travelers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Honduras; travelers who can provide proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before travel may be exempt from the testing requirement. Travelers arriving via air must also complete a pre-arrival (prechequeo) travel form. Passengers departing via the country’s land borders are also required to complete the online travel form. Travelers may be subject to additional COVID-19 testing upon arrival. Those who present symptoms, test positive, or have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 may be required to quarantine. Wearing a facemask is always required while traveling.
