Wildfires have broken out near the Tsitsikamma Toll Plaza. Located between the boarder of Eastern Cape and Western Cape on June 21st. Travelers should except delays as part of the N2 highway has been closed due to the extreme danger and unpredictability of the fire. Nearby roads are projected to open and close throughout the day as the status of the fire changes. Communities are being put on high alert as they may need to be evacuated at a moment’s notice as the path of the fair could become unpredictable due to changing winds. With communities having already been evacuated expect traffic as residence could be coming back or new evacuations are underway.

Visibility is expected to be low due to the smoke and ash fall, use extreme caution when traveling. Power outages are expected, and business could be affected by long periods of power loss. Be sure to keep essentials stocked and electronics charged. Air quality expected to be medium to high, officials recommend to stay inside as much as possible.
