Multiple attacks within days leave the citizens of Mali looking for answers. A security checkpoint near the Gao, Gao region was attacked by terrorist yet to be identified. Two soldiers were announced dead after further investigation. Officials are still unclear on why the attack was carried out. In the Douentza, Mopti region at least 8 MINUSMA fell victim to an IED when their vehicle was hit near a military camp. The recent rise in attacks will leave the Mali in a heighten security posture.  Expect travel delays as ground operations are being conducted throughout the country. Officials predict more attacks to come in the near future.
