An increased security presence has been reported around Mile 12 Market area along Ikorodu Road in Lagos, Kosofe Local Government Area, May 6. Authorities deployed heightened security to secure the area following earlier clashes. The reason for the clashes remain unclear, but reports indicate that the area has been the epicenter of tensions between rival groups in recent days. Uncorroborated reports state that up to two individuals were killed amid the violence.

Tensions may remain high. As such, retaliatory attacks between opposing groups remain possible despite the deployment of security personnel. Transportation and business operation disruptions are likely in the affected area through at least late May 6.
